When you create an account or purchase a ticket on showUp, we collect:

• Name and email address
• Mobile money phone number (for payment processing only)
• Device and browser information for security purposes
• Event preferences derived from your browsing activity on the Platform

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Process ticket purchases and deliver your QR tickets via email
• Authenticate your account and maintain security
• Send transactional emails (booking confirmations, event reminders)
• Improve the Platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Payment Data

Payment transactions are processed by NKWAPay. showUp does not store your full mobile money credentials. We store payment reference IDs for dispute resolution and accounting purposes only.

4. Data Sharing

We share your name and email with event organisers so they can verify attendance. We do not share your payment details or phone number with organisers.

5. Cookies

We use a single first-party cookie (showup-language) to remember your language preference. No third-party advertising cookies are used.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@showup.events. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Ticket purchase records are retained for 5 years for legal and accounting compliance. Anonymous analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

8. Security

Account passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Authentication is managed by Supabase with industry-standard security practices. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the Platform.
